Boulder Mountain Utah Elopement

Beautiful destination wedding in Boulder Utah.

Oh my WORRDDD. Kristin and Nathan’s wedding was truly a day to remember.

Even before I arrived at The Boulder Mountain Lodge, I knew it was going to be good. How could I know? Well, if you have ever driven through Boulder Mountain you would know! IT’S BEAUTIFUL! Oh, and did you know there is even a Boulder, Utah? Most people don’t, but if you are traveling to Utah to get married-  it’s a perfect Utah wedding or elopement destination! It’s just south of one of Utah’s famous National parks, Capitol Reef!

Ok OK, now to the good stuff. Kristen and Nathen are doctors from Idaho. And believe it or not, they met on MY SPACE! Does anyone remember that? They have been together for almost 10 years. Yeah, that’s right… TEN YEARS!  So you can imagine how thrilled their family was that they were sealing the deal!

Are You a Fan of Small Weddings?

They had a small list of guests, and by small I mean SMALL, only 19 guests! They invited their family, 4 best friends… and then me (and the officiant!) I felt so lucky and blessed to be part of such an intimate wedding. The Boulder Mountain Lodge hosted the whole shibang! All of their  family and friends stayed at the lodge! Kristen got ready in her room and when the time came, her dad walked her out to the grounds. Everyone was gathered around and anxiously waiting to get a first look at the beautiful bride. Everyone lit up when they caught a glimpse of Kristen walking towards them.  She was STUNNING.

The two lovers shared a brief first look and then let the ceremony begin. Everyone stood around as Kristen and Nathen exchanged the most sincere vows. There were definitely some tears. (I’m not supposed to tell everyone that, but I am).  AH, I don’t even have words to tell you how perfect every moment of this wedding was. After they were congratulated by their closest family and friends at the close of the ceremony, everyone gathered around for toasts on the grounds! If you’re considering an intimate wedding in a beautiful location, you should definitely consider taking the time to gather together and enjoy some celebratory drinks in the beautiful scenery.

Hell’s Back Bone Grill AKA The Wedding Dinner From Heaven

But wait, THERE’S MORE!  We gathered around for an intimate family dinner. All 20 of us at the lodge’s restaurant, Hells Back Bone Grill. They have a farm, so they grow all their own food.  (And It’s all 100% DELICIOUS. Yum.) The best pork chop I have ever had. Not joking. I loved it. I think it costs like 50 dollars, but it’s worth it. My mouth is watering right now just thinking about it.

Not only was there good pork chops at dinner, but it was definitely followed by an epic flossing battle on the dance floor! And chocolate cake. (Let’s not forget about that.) Above all, Kristen and Nathen’s wedding was perfect. I am now most certainly obsessed with small destination weddings.

FYI, I spent the night at the lodge, 10/10 would recommend! I stopped at Capital Reef on my way home! Thanks to this small and beautiful Utah wedding, I have now been to every national park in Utah. It’s no wonder people come here to get married, it’s breathtaking.
