Getting Ready on Your Wedding Day

Getting Ready On Your Wedding Day

Getting ready on your wedding day can take a hot minute, especially when 100% satisfaction is a MUST! It can be tricky to know how long you should plan to get ready, but don’t worry, if you keep reading, you’ll find the answers!

Hair and Makeup

Plan out 60-90 minutes to do your hair and an additional 60-90 minutes to do your makeup.

As the bride, a good practice would be to have your hair and makeup stylists do your hair and makeup at least once before your wedding day. This way, you can be sure you like the way it looks, and you can get a good idea of how long it’s going to take on the big day!

Pro tip: If you are having formals or bridal photographs taken make sure you use the same hair and makeup artist for them! This is the practice run before your big day!

Getting Dressed

When it comes to getting dressed, it’s good to plan out 15 minutes. This allows for time to put on your dress, jewelry, and shoes without feeling rushed!

Bridal Portraits

As soon as your hair and makeup is done, take a minute to get those Bridal Portraits done! This is the perfect time because your hair and makeup are FRESSHHH!

Plan out 15-20 minutes to get these portraits of your fine self because you will be feeling like a queen! ( And if you are running late, which is the norm… You will have a little wiggle room in your schedule!)

Extra Fun

If you’re looking for a way to make getting ready extra fun- here’s a few ideas!

  1. Matching Bridal Party Robes! This is a great way to get everybody excited and makes for some super cute pictures too! If you like the matching bridal party idea, but aren’t into robes… check out The Knot for even more ideas!
  2. Get that playlist pumping! It’s a great idea to ask your Maid of Honor or bridesmaids to   create a playlist for the morning of your wedding. Don’t be afraid to get your groove on!

  1. Bring on the champagne! (Or diet Dr. Pepper, whichever is more your style;))

Emergency Kit

Even if you plan enough time to get ready, things could still happen that you didn’t plan for.  Thats why its important to make sure you have an emergency kit for anything that might go wrong.

This kit should include at least the following items:

Tweezers, stain remover, extra deodorant, extra shoes (sandals), extra lashes/glue if you wear them, dry shampoo, oil blotting wipes for your face, clear nail polish, bobbi pins, breath mints, and any other personal items you would want to have!
