Moab, Utah Elopement Photographer | The Royal Fox Society Adventure Session

I had the chance to shoot with The Royal Fox Society out in Moab, Utah!

If you’ve never been to Moab, scroll down, send me an email, and I’ll take you there — for real. There’s truly nowhere like it. This little desert town is tucked between Arches National Park (aka my favorite) and Canyonlands National Park, and it’s one of the most breathtaking places on Earth to say “I do.”

From red rock cliffs and sandstone arches to golden light and endless views, Moab is pure elopement magic.

Why Couples Love Eloping in Moab

Moab is the ultimate elopement destination for couples who want adventure, intimacy, and jaw-dropping scenery — without the stress of a traditional wedding. Whether you’re hiking to a secluded overlook, exchanging vows under an arch, or just exploring in your wedding boots, this place feels wild and romantic in the best way.

Tips for Planning Your Moab Elopement

1. Pick the Right Time of Year

Moab can get hot in the summer, so spring and fall are ideal for elopements. March–May and September–October offer the best temps, golden light, and fewer crowds.
☀️ Pro Tip: Sunrise and sunset sessions are everything here — soft light, cooler temps, and epic colors.

2. Get Your Permits Early

If you’re eloping inside Arches or Canyonlands National Park, you’ll need a special-use permit. It’s a simple process, but apply early — they can book up months in advance! I always help my couples navigate this part so it’s easy and stress-free.

3. Plan Your Travel + Lodging

Moab is a small town about a 4-hour drive from Salt Lake City or Grand Junction airports. Book your stay early, especially if your date falls between April and October. There are beautiful options — from glamping domes and cozy Airbnbs to upscale resorts with mountain views.

4. Bring the Right Gear

Comfortable hiking shoes, layers for changing temps, and plenty of water are must-haves. If you’re hiking in your wedding clothes, I recommend packing them and changing at your spot — it keeps everything clean and wrinkle-free.

5. Make a Weekend of It

You came all the way to Moab — soak it up! Go off-roading, explore Arches at sunrise, grab coffee downtown, or catch sunset at Dead Horse Point. This is one of those places that sticks with you forever.

Why I Love Shooting in Moab

Every direction you look in Moab is photo magic. The textures, colors, and light here are unreal — it’s the kind of place where you can’t take a bad photo. Between sandstone cliffs, hidden arches, and cinematic sunsets, there’s a reason so many couples choose Moab for their elopement.

When I shoot here, I scout locations that fit your vibe — whether that’s something adventurous and remote, or intimate and easy to access.
